Angela D. Cates, 94 of Mokena, IL, a former Danville resident died at 11:31 p. m. Sunday August 11, 2013 at Sunny Hill Nursing Home in Joliet. She was born October 8, 1918 at Danville, IL the daughter of Francis Michael and Frances (Gniot) Mackiewicz.
She graduated from Danville High School. Angela married Harold Leon Cates and they resided in the Chicago area for 60 years prior to his death on March 9, 2012, recently at Mokena. She was employed by Pittman & Company for many years.
Surviving is a daughter Mary Elaine (Jack Palica) Cates-Palica of Mokena and a son Richard Cates of Chicago. She was the last survivor of several children.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a. m. EDT Friday August 16, 2013 at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington with Father Steven Loftus officiating. Burial will follow in Danville National Cemetery.
