Covington Anna Marie Allison, 91 died at 3:40 a. m. Wednesday October 6, 2010 at The Waters of Covington. She was born October 12, 1918 in Covington the daughter of Robert Earl and Mable Ruth (Jackson) Kenny.
She was a 1936 graduate of Covington High School and 1939 graduate of St. Elizabeth School of Nursing. She was a RN at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Danville for 43 years retiring in 1982. A life resident of Covington, she was a very active member of First Baptist Church, and a member of Danville Chapter Lupus Foundation of America.
Marie married Lester K. Allison August 3, 1941 at Covington and he died August 31, 1994. Surviving are two sons, Jeffrey (Sue) of Covington, Joseph (Cindy) of Cypress, CA, 3 sisters, Pauline (Ogle) Snider, Nancy (Ray) McDaniel, and Gretchen (Lloyd) Chambers, all of Covington, 2 brothers, Charles (Emogene) Kenny of Crawfordsville, and Jack (Joan) Kenny of Decatur, IL. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, Tiffany (George) Wood, Tyler (Melissa) Allison, Summer (Ryan) Johnson, 3 great grandchildren, Sierra and Teagan Allison, and Reese Wood. Her parents, 2 sisters, Marlis Davan, and Mildred Woodrow, 2 brothers, Robert Kenny, and John Kenny preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a. m. Saturday October 9, 2010 at First Baptist Church with Pastor Warren Allen officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p. m. Friday at First Baptist Church. Shelby Funeral Home is directing the services.
