Anne M. Smith

Anne M. Smith, 82, of Covington died early Thursday morning February 28, 2019 at her home after a brief illness. She was born October 25, 1936 at Covington the daughter of Roy Fields Ricketts and Marjorie M. (Corey) Ricketts.

Anne was a 1954 graduate of Covington High School and a 1958 graduate of Purdue University in Home Economics. She returned to Covington in 1987 from Drakesville, IA.  She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening, the outdoors, painting, water colors and local history.

Anne married Freeman Lyle Smith April 5, 1958 at Covington, IN and he died April 22, 2003. Surviving is a daughter, Sabrina Smith of Covington, a sister, Beverly Galloway of Covington; a brother-in-law Craig (Sheila) Smith; a sister-in-law Janet Smith; two nephews, Mike (Ellen) Galloway and Matt (Dawn) Galloway and a niece Cathy Pacheco.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Monday March 4, 2019 at Shelby Funeral Home, 622 Third Street, Covington with Pastor Robert Fairchild officiating.
