Arthur Corwin Bowling

Arthur C. Art Bowling, 86, of Foster died at 2:00 A. M. Wednesday April 29, 2015 at The Waters of Covington.
He was born May 25, 1928 at Cates, IN the son of Arthur Monroe and Grace Iva (Harvey) Bowling. He lived in the Cates, Covington area and moved to Foster in 1985.
Art was a 1948 graduate of Kingman High School and served in the Army 1948 to 1952, being stationed in Germany. He was employed at Olin and Flexel 38 years, retiring in 1992.
He married Patricia L. Lyons July 3, 1954 and she died April 10, 1993. Surviving are six children, Roger (Phyllis) Bowling of Covington; Chris (Nancy) Bowling of Brazil, IN; Lisa Wilson, Guy Bowling, and Randy Bowling, all of Covington; Kami Giesler of Bloomfield, IN; six grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. His parents, wife, son Jerry Wayne, six brothers, a sister, and a son-in-law Leonard Wilson preceded him in death.
Art was an avid fan of Covington High School, I U basketball, and the Dodgers baseball. He was a member of Covington Boosters Club and coached little league baseball for many years.
Funeral services will be Friday May 1, 2015 at 1:00 P. M. at Shelby Funeral Home with Tim Lyons officiating. Burial will follow in Kingman Fraternal Cemetery with military honors by the Army and America Legion Post # 288. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 P. M. Thursday at Shelby Funeral Home.
