Thorntown Barbara L. Hathaway, 84 of Thorntown died at 12:45 a. m. Wednesday September 12, 2012 at her home following an extended illness. She was born January 10, 1928 in Chicago the daughter of the late Elbert and Margaret (Bennett) Carter.
She was a 1947 graduate of Cayuga High School. She moved to Thorntown from Kingman in 1958 and was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses at Lebanon.
Barbara married Billy D. Hathaway November 10, 1948 at Cayuga. He survives with a daughter, Kathy (Walter) Medley of Thorntown; 2 grandchildren, Brian (Vicki) Medley of Thorntown, and Dawn (Dewayne) Rector of Logansport; 4 great grandchildren, Tiara and Shelby Medley, Devin and Drew Rector.
Private family services will be held at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Covington.
