Belinda Abernathy

Belinda Abernathy, 85, of Covington died Monday April 12, 2021 at The Waters of Covington.  She was born September 8, 1935 at Veedersburg, IN the daughter of Herbert and Mary (Beaver) Allen.

Belinda grew up in Veedersburg and was a graduate of Veedersburg High School in 1953, and St. Elizabeth Hospital Nursing School.  She was employed at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Williamsport Hospital and the South Clinic before retiring.  She enjoyed her family and square dancing.  She formerly attended New Century Church.

Belinda married Quentin Abernathy March 30, 1957 at Coopers Chapel and he preceded her in death April 25, 2015.  Surviving are two sons, Brian Abernathy (Sylvia Cauley) of Covington, and Kurt Abernathy (Tina) of St Cloud FL; a sister Ruthie Quintela (Joe) of Ft. Stockton, TX; five grandchildren, Jason Abernathy, Joe Abernathy (Alyssa), Farah Abernathy, Brittany Burns, and Whitney Ferraiulo (Vinny); and a great granddaughter.  Her parents, husband, and son Mark preceded her in death.

Graveside services 1:00 P. M. Friday April 16, 2021 in Rockfield Cemetery, Veedersburg.  Cremation was chosen and no other services will be held.  Shelby Funeral Home is assisting the family.  Condolences to the family: www.shelbyfuneralhome.com .
