Bertha T. Smith, 94, of Danville died Saturday August 4, 2018 at North Logan Health Care. She was born December 15, 1923 in Vermilion County, IL the daughter of Oliver and Mary (Loveall) Bailey.
Bertha was employed for several years at General Electric in Danville. She was a former resident of Cayuga and Newport, moving to Bowman Estates in 2003, and later to North Logan Health Care.
She married Lawrence W. Smith July 16, 1942 and he died December 26, 1982. Surviving is a daughter Gail Crowder of Covington, two grandchildren Terry Crowder and Kimberly Ratcliff, and four great grandchildren. Her parents, husband and daughter preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be Monday August 6, 2018 at 1:00 P. M. EDT at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington with Pastor Dale DeNeal officiating. Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery at Lodi. Visitation will be Noon until the time of services at 1:00 P.M. Condolences to the family: www.shelbyfuneralhome.com
