Bessie Elma Todd, 94 died at 12:35 a. m. Sunday February 13, 2011 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center, Danville. She was born November 21, 1916 near Bradyville, TN the daughter of Ernest and Florence Anderson Reed.
Bessie married James W. Todd December 16, 1936 and he preceded her in death September 16, 1998. Surviving are 2 daughters, Bettyle Hornbrook of Marshall, IL, and Nova Ann (Todd) Curless of Athens, GA, a son Jimmy Todd of Elkhart, a sister Linda Bush of Bradyville, TN, 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and a great-great grandson. Her parents, a daughter, 2 sisters, 2 brothers, and 2 grandchildren preceded her in death.
Mrs. Todd was a homemaker and a cook at Covington Manor (now the Waters) for 15 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church and moved to Covington in 1958 from Paris, IL.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 Noon Thursday February 17, 2011 at Shelby Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Humrichous officiating. Visitation will be 11:00 a. m. until time of services. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at: www.shelbyfuneralhome.com.
