Betty Lou Corey

Betty Lou Corey, 90 of Longview, TX died at 3:15 a. m. Tuesday March 11, 2014 at Good Shepherd Hospital, Longview.

She was born December 5, 1923 near Veedersburg, IN the daughter of Gail M. and Mary Marie (Hickman) Coffing.

Betty was a 1941 graduate of Covington High School and was a resident of Covington until moving to Longview in 1978.  She was a homemaker.  She enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Betty was a loving mother.

Betty married R. Lee Corey January 16, 1943 at Veedersburg and he died March 2, 1985.  Surviving are 2 daughters, Sherrill (Joe) Wilson of Cayuga and Wanda (Jack) Greer of Longview, TX; 5 grandchildren, Hope Carlson of Mahomet, IL; Melodie Harvey (fiancé Alan Newman) of Pemberville, OH; Corey (Sarah) Wilson of New Richmond, IN; Tyler Greer of Longview, TX; and Trinity (Jennifer) Greer of Longview, TX; 2 step grandchildren, Ron Greer of Longview, TX and Lori Reynolds of New Diana, TX.  Also surviving are 9 great grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.  Her parents and a brother Ernest Coffing preceded her in death.

Cremation was chosen and a graveside service will be held at a later date in Mount Hope Cemetery, Covington.  Shelby Funeral Home is assisting the family.  Condolences to the family:  www.shelbyfuneralhome.com.
