Betty Joanne Donelson

Betty Joanne Donelson, 79, of Covington died at 2:52 P. M. Wednesday January 18, 2017 at home having been seriously ill for some time. She was born July 23, 1937 at New Ross, IN the daughter of the late Arista and Geraldine (Towell) McGinnis.

Betty was a life resident of Fountain County, moving to Covington in 1974 from Kingman. She was a 1955 graduate of Wallace High School and Danville Beauty School.  She operated the Kurl Kottage in Kingman and Covington for many years.  She was a member of Kingman Christian Church.

Betty married Patrick A. Donelson October 26, 2013 in Covington and he survives. Also surviving is a daughter Jill (Joe) Gee, a son Jeffrey Crowder, both of Covington; a sister Peggy (Conrad) Perry of Kingman; two step children, Kristine K. (Dusty) Poer and Peter Donelson, both of Covington; five grandchildren, Carly (Danny) Stevens of Brownsburg, IN, Bryan Chandler of Covington; Chandler Petrus of Chicago; Cassy (Craig) Richardson of Spring, TX; Lindsey Crowder of Greenwood, IN; six great grandchildren and three step grandchildren.  Also surviving is Donald R. Crowder to whom she was married from 1955 to 1973.

Memorial services will be at 1:00 P. M. Monday January 23, 2017 at Shelby Funeral Home with Virgil Barker officiating. Visitation will be 11:00 A.
