Bruce Fred Burleson

Bruce Fred Burleson, 55, of Veedersburg died at 3:10 P. M. Saturday May 19, 2018 at Franciscan St. Elizabeth East, Lafayette. He was born October 18, 1962 at Danville, IL the son of Howard and Joan (Crawford) Burleson.

Bruce graduated from Covington High School in 1981 and served in the Marine Corps. He was employed at Lebanon Seaboard for 25 years.  He was a member of United Steelworkers local #975.  He moved to Veedersburg from Danville in 2011.

Bruce was married to Melonie Laws for thirty-two years, they had three children, Stephan, Chris, and Lee Ann. Bruce married Lovana Reynolds February 14, 2009.  She and Melanie both survive.  Also surviving is a son Stephan (Amanda) Burleson of Montezuma; four step children, Chasity Reynolds and Crystal Pruitt, both of Danville, IL, Shannon Rademacher of Veedersburg, and Chris Laws of Clinton.; two sisters, Tammy (Wayne) Stidham of Pea Ridge, AR, and Lucinda (Jim) Kelly of East Ellijay, GA; thirteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and three on the way.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Lee Ann Burleson, and a brother.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 7:00 P. M. EDT Wednesday May 23, 2018 at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington with Rev. William Lehman officiating. Visitation 5:00 to 7:00 P. M. prior to services.  Condolences to the family: www.shelbyfuneralhome.com
