Carol V Myers

Carol V. Myers, 89 of Covington died at 12:08 A. M. Monday April 16, 2018 at home. She was born November 6, 1928 in Chicago, IL the daughter of the late Lester and Esther (Carlson) Carruthers.

She graduated from high school in Chicago, IL. Carol was also a graduate of Eastern Illinois University. She taught at Covington High School for several years.  Her memberships include: Church of the Holy Trinity, Danville, IL, Alpha Gamma Associate Chapter of Tri Kappa, Womans Club, Ladies of the Nile, and Congressional Club.

Carol married John T. Myers May 30, 1953 at Danville, IL. He died January 27, 2015.  John was Indiana’s Seventh District Congressman for 30 years.  Surviving are two daughters, Carol Ann Myers (Rick Kellam) of Marion, IN, and Lori (Brian) Kerns of Terre Haute, IN; seven grandchildren, Justin, Austin and Elizabeth Kerns, Shannon Christman, Kristy Unton, Aaron and Alex Kellem.

A traditional Episcopal funeral service will be held at 11:00 A. M. EDT Saturday April 21, 2018 at Shelby Funeral Home with Father Richard Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, Covington, IN. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 P. M. EDT Friday at Shelby Funeral Home.  Memorials requested to Indiana University Cancer Foundation or Covington Community Foundation with envelopes available at Shelby Funeral Home.  Condolences to the family: www.shelbyfuneralhome.com
