Chauncey Crowder, Jr., 77 of Covington died at 8:50 a. m. Wednesday June 25, 2014 at The Waters of Covington following an extended illness.
Chauncey was born August 2, 1936 at Cates, IN the son of Chancey William and Ruth R. (Barker) Crowder.
He was a resident of Cates most of his life and graduated from Kingman High School in 1954. He was employed at Olin for 20 years before retiring in 1983. He also had helped his father in the blacksmith shop and farmed.
Surviving are three children, Debra Crowder of Indianapolis; Lu Anne (John) Gayler of Covington; and Robert (Lisa) Crowder of Indian Trail, NC; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. His parents and a grandson Josh Randles preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p. m. EDT Saturday June 28, 2014 at Shelby Funeral Home with Bill Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation: 11:00 a. m. to 1:00 p. m. Saturday. Condolences to the family: www.shelbyfuneralhome.com
