David D. Lewis

David D. Lewis, 70, of Covington died at 5:59 P. M. Monday April 11, 2016 at Presence USMC following an automobile accident. He was born at Danville, IL September 28, 1945 the son of Robert and Mary Elizabeth (Spencer) Lewis

He moved to Covington in 1970 from Cayuga. He graduated from Cayuga High School in 1963, where he played football and later served in the Army Reserve. David greatly loved his grandchildren and enjoyed his family, outdoors and his home.

David was employed by National Cash Register thirty-one years and Bank Source several years before retiring in 2008.

David married Marlene Ann Riley September 18, 1965 at Scotts Prairie Church and they celebrated fifty wonderful years together before her death October 23, 2015.

Surviving is a son Brad Alan (Karla) Lewis of Danville, IL; two daughters, Sheryl Sue (Abram) Neufeld of Henderson KY and Cynthia Cindy Lynn (Steve) Blackwell of Yorktown, VA; a sister Judy (John) Youngblood of Columbus, IN; a brother Mike Lewis of Danville, IL; eleven grandchildren, a great grandson; and several nieces and nephews. His parents preceded him in death.

Graveside services will be 11:00 A. M. Saturday April 16, 2016 in Lower Mound cemetery with Pastor Scott McCurdy officiating and burial of cremains.
