Dean L. Hanson, 78 of Danville, IL. died Sunday June 7, 2015 at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home after a brief illness. He was born April 11, 1937 at Danville, IL. to William K. and Ida Mae (Starns) Hanson.
Dean was a 1955 Graduate of Bismarck High School. He worked in construction as a cement finisher, was a real estate broker and was owner of Garwood-Hanson and Hanson Construction for over 50 years. He enjoyed going to Alaska to hunt and fish.
Dean is survived by his long-time companion, Carol Bonynge, 3 children; Tony (Kathy) Hanson of Danville, IL. Melanie Hanson of Greensboro, NC. And William (Linda) Hanson of Carlton, OR. Three Grandchildren; Teena (Jonathan) Dixon of Danville, Dani Sawyer of Greensboro, NC. And Lily Hanson of Carlton, OR. Great-Grandson Nolan Dixon and Great-Granddaughter Ella Dixon both of Danville, IL. He was preceded in death by his Parents.
There will be a gathering of family and friends Thursday June 25, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. (EDT) at Shelby Funeral Home, 622 Third Street Covington, Indiana. With a Memorial Service at 7:00 P.M.
