Dennis Lee Manning

March 11, 1940 — November 20, 2015

Dennis L. Manning, 75 of Veedersburg, In. died Friday morning Nov. 20, 2015 at his residence. He was born March 11, 1940 in Veedersburg to Curtis and Ruth Miles Manning. Dennis was a 1958 Graduate of Veedersburg High School and a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was married to Sharon A. (Brewer) Manning on July 1, 1991, at Louisville, KY. And she preceded him in death on Sept.4, 2012.
Dennis was a State Farm Insurance Agent in Attica, IN. for 16 years. He then was employed at Danville Area Community College for 15 years retiring in 2004. He was a member of the Veedersburg American Legion Post #288.
He is survived by a son, Jason (Paige) Manning of Lafayette, IN., step-daughter, Vikki (Tom) Gleen of Louisville, KY. Four grandchildren: Nolen and Kelsey Manning and Rachel and Megan Johnson, two brothers; Norman Bounce Manning and Ron (Nancy) Manning of Veedersburg. A nephew, R.D. (Cindy Boone) Manning and a niece, Shannon (Joe) Cox of Veedersburg. Two step-nieces; Val (Carl) Hoagland and Rene (Neil) Keller of Veedersburg and a special friend Dave Johnson. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife and a step-son, David Brown.
Cremation was chosen and a Memorial Service will be at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday November 25, 2015 at Shelby Funeral Home of Covington, IN., with Gary Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M.
