Edna Gay Spicer

Edna Spicer, 87, of Covington died unexpectedly at 11:00 A. M. Friday February 27, 2015 at Kinston, NC. She was born at Pink Hill, NC March 23, 1927 the daughter of Willie and Annie Mae (Kornegay) Howard.

Edna married David L. Spicer May 16, 1952 at Kinston, NC and he preceded her in death March 23, 2013. Surviving is a son, Timothy (LaDonna) Spicer of Covington, 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Her parents, husband, an infant daughter, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters preceded her in death.

She moved to Covington in 1962 from Vermilion Grove, IL, and previously lived at Kinston, NC. She was a member of Covington Nazarene Church and served on the Troy Township election board for many years. She was employed at General Electric for 31 years before retiring.

Visitation will be at Covington Nazarene Church 5:00 to 8:00 P. M. Wednesday. Funeral services will be at the church at 11:00 A. M. EST Thursday March 5, 2015 with Pastors Richard Stadler and Jeff Woolwine officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Condolences to the family: www.shelbyfuneralhome.com
