Eleanor Jo McConnell

August 21, 1952 — October 10, 2015

Eleanor Jo McConnell, 63, of Danville, IL, passed away on October 10, 2015 at Carle Hospital, Urbana, IL. She had been hospitalized for the past 5 weeks.

Jo was born August 21, 1952, in Ft. Campbell, TN, to Edsel and Mary (Unekis) McConnell.
She grew up in Covington and graduated from CHS in 1970. She went to Indianapolis, IN and was trained as a dental assistant. She worked there for a few years, then moved back to Danville, IL. She began working at Walgreens Accounting Co. in 1976 and retired in 2014 from the insurance department.

Jo is survived by her mother of Covington, three sisters and one brother: Janet Lewis, Covington, Mary Ann (Carl) Eades of Crawfordsville, Barb (John) Yoho of Cayuga, and Edsel (Mary Jo) McConnell of Fishers, IN. She also has many nieces and nephews. David (Amanda) Eades, Jerot Eades, Jennifer (Doug) Sutherlin, AJ (Jess) Lewis, Andy (Samantha) Yoho, Kelly (Phil) Mobley, Emily (Kyle) Ross, Eric McConnell, Zach (Amanda) McConnell, Cody McConnell, and Mariah McConnell.

Great nieces and nephews: Devin, Brad, and Audriaunna Eades, Raeanne and Alexandra Sutherlin, Gabby and Gracie Lewis, Molly Mobley, Maddy Ross and Evan and Aubrey Yoho. Her father preceded her in death.
Jos hobbies were baking, cooking and reading. She enjoyed cooking for others and being supportive to cancer patients. She was very good hearted and will be missed by her family and friends.

Services are Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at Shelby Funeral Home in Covington, visitation 3:00 to 6:00 P. M. (EDT) with memorial services at 6:00 P. M. Minister Eddy Jones, of the First Church of Christ will officiate.
