Evelyn Jane Grubb

July 22, 1916 — September 8, 2013

Evelyn Jane Grubb, 97 of Covington, IN passed away at 4:40 a. m. September 8, 2013 at The Waters of Covington where she had resided the past three years. Evelyn was born July 22, 1916 in Clinton, IN the daughter of the late Howard and Ica (Miller) Plaster

She married Charles K. Grubb on July 24, 1937 in Indianapolis. They celebrated 51 years of marriage before his death on August 14, 1988.

Survivors include one son, Phillip (Martha) Grubb of Veedersburg and one daughter, Charla (Dan) Crisp of Covington; seven grandchildren, Shawna (Walter) Holland of Arizona, Rance (Crystal) Grubb of Hillsboro, Michelle (Ken) Fritsch of Maryland, David (Jill) Crisp of Michigan, Kimberly (Charles) McKell of Florida, Becki Rayner of Florida, Madonna Hensley of Attica; 13 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Joe L. Grubb, two grandchildren, Dani Sue Crisp and James Kenneth Grubb and 1 great grandson; a brother, Herman Plaster and a sister, Mary Ann Haxton.

Evelyn graduated from Cayuga High School in 1934 and has been a homemaker and seamstress all her life. She was a member of First Church of Christ in Covington.
Evelyn enjoyed the Friendship Circle Center of Covington, playing cards, crafts, and most of all her family and her nieces and nephews.

A celebration of the life of Evelyn Grubb will be held at 10:00 a.m. EDT Thursday September 12, 2013 at Shelby Funeral Home in Covington with Randy Walters and Gary Johnson officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p. m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made in Evelyns name to the First Church of Christ, the Friendship Circle Center or The Waters of Covington with envelopes available at the funeral home. Condolences to the family: www.shelbyfuneralhome.com.
