Frances Betty Rae Niccum

Frances Betty Rae (Reynolds) Niccum, 89 of Portland Arch died at 4:45 a. m Tuesday April 30, 2013 at home following a two month illness. She was born October 25, 1923 at Clinton, IN the daughter of Rush and Evelyn (Vestal) Reynolds.

Betty graduated from Blackhawk High School. She moved to Covington in 1955 from Terre Haute. She was a homemaker and was known as the pie lady. She enjoyed making pies, jelly, gardening, planting flowers, and she liked to burn leaves and brush. Betty loved spending time with her grandkids.

Betty married Wayne F. Niccum June 4, 1943 at Terre Haute and he survives. Also surviving are five sons, Wayne F. Niccum, Jr., David S. (Linda) Niccum, Walter N. Nody (Bobbie) Niccum, all of Covington, Jonnie (Debra Belinski) Niccum of Attica, James L Niccum of Covington; two daughters, Linda (Dean) Rehder of Elkhart, Jeanne (Tom) Murray of Covington; three sisters, Lenora Pete Reynolds, Rita Jones, Mona (Jerry) Lowe, all of Clinton, IN; a brother Robert Bob (Luann) Reynolds of Terre Haute; 19 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren. Her parents, 2 brothers, and 4 sisters preceded her in death.

Visitation will be 11:00 a. m. until time of services at 1:00 p. m. Thursday May 2, 2013 at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington. Terry Martin will officiate and burial will follow in Fountain Cemetery.
