Gerald A. “Jerry” Nolan, 81, of Perrysville died at 6:45 P. M. Sunday April 5, 2020 at Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health in Crawfordsville. He was born June 26, 1938 in Chicago the son of Albert Edward and Helen Ada (Markle) Nolan.
Jerry was a graduate of Lane Tech in Chicago and was in the Army from 1955 to 1958. He was employed at Bohn Aluminum fourteen years before retiring. He was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church. He was a former resident of Danville, IL, resided in Covington twenty-five years, and recently moved to Perrysville. He enjoyed bingo and going to the 341 Restaurant in Wallace.
Jerry was first married to Phyllis Ann (Fox) Nolan until her death. He married Joanne Clodfelder Nolan July 11, 1981 at Danville, IL, they recently divorced, and she survives. Also surviving is a son Paul Nolan of Champaign; four step children, Wendall Haga, Kathy (David) Thomas, Janet Buck, Donald (Connie) Haga; two sisters, Patricia Metz and Eileen (Bob) Skrutski; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren, and eleven great-great grandchildren. His parents, a brother, step son and a step grandson preceded him in death.
Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date because of the current situation with the Covid-19 virus. Shelby Funeral Home is assisting the family. Condolences to the family: www.shelbyfuneralhome.com .
