Harold T Gebhart

Harold T. Gebhart, known with affection as “Geppie” or “Gabby”, 85, of rural Covington died at 2:15 P. M. Saturday April 11, 2015 at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center.

He was born December 15, 1929 at State Line, IN the son of Jacob Russell and Ruth Olive (Miller) Gebhart.

Harold graduated from Covington High School in 1947 and moved to Mound Township in 1953 from State Line. “Geppie” served in the Army 1951 to 1953 in Korea.
He was employed at General Electric 39 years, retiring in 1992. He played baseball on a minor league team of the Cubs. He was an avid Cardinals baseball and Indiana University Basketball fan.

His memberships include: 50 year member of Fountain Lodge #60 F. & A. M., a former member and Past Master of State Line Lodge.

Harold married Helen Marie Delp October 31, 1953 at Covington and she survives. Also surviving is a daughter Karen S. (Robert) Maxson of Hillsdale, and a son Kurtis A. (Lori) Gebhart of Cayuga, two grandchildren, Klaire Gebhart, Brittany Hill, and one great granddaughter Aubrey Ellis. His parents and a sister Ida Mae Kilby preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday April 15, 2015 at Shelby Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 P. M. Tuesday with Masonic services at 7:45 P. M. Condolences to the family: www.shelbyfuneralhome.com.
