Harold Devon Hegg, 76 of Covington died at 12:02 p. m. Wednesday December 19, 2012 at The Waters of Covington. He was born April 7, 1936 in Covington the son of Devon and Louise (Warrick) Hegg.
He was a life resident of Covington and a1954 graduate of Covington High School. He was employed at the former Burrins Pharmacy in Covington and Hardings Pharmacy in Danville for a total of 38 years. He then worked at Steel Grip for 7 years, retiring in 2001. He operated a bicycle shop at home for 18 years.
Harold married Barbara Joan Sparks June 3, 1956 at Covington and she survives. Also surviving is a son Harold Michael (Helen) Hegg of Covington; a daughter Cari Ann (fiance Luis Espinosa) Hines of La Porte, IN; a sister Christine Gross and a brother James (Barbara) Hegg, both of Covington; a step-granddaughter Kimberly (Eric) Koven of Bolingbrook, IL; and a step-great grandson, Jack Koven. His parents and a brother Albert Hegg preceded him in death.
Visitation will be 11:00 a. m. until time of services at 1:00 p. m. Friday December 21, 2012 at Shelby Funeral Home. James Russell will officiate and burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Condolences to the family: www.shelbyfuneralhome.com.
