Irene Lois Bland

Irene Lois Bland, 98, of Perrysville passed away Wednesday August 29, 2018 at home. She was born in Omaha, NE November 23, 1919 the daughter of Gus and Alice (Davis) Wait.

Her family moved to Danville, IL, where she graduated from Danville High School in June 1938. She was a member of Christian Union Church and in later years attended Gessie United Methodist Church.

Her main hobby was baking cookies and making candy then giving them to almost anyone who came to her door.

She married Winford Bland February 20, 1942. He passed away July 8, 2008.  She is survived by a nephew Alan (Debbie) Wait, Perrysville, IN, a niece Nancy Wait (Don Richardson), Catlin, IL, and a sister-in-law Elouise Wait, Catlin, IL.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and a dear special friend Leland Langley.  A special thank you to caregiver Brenda Stuebe.

Services at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington at 12:00 P. M. EDT Saturday September 1, 2018 with Pastor Robert Fairchild officiating. Burial in Hicks Cemetery, Perrysville.  Visitation will be 10:00 A.
