Jack High

Dr. Jack Lee High, 75 of Covington died Monday November 14, 2022 at home.  He was born on November 27, 1946, in Danville, IL to the late William High and June Gross High.  On October 26, 1968, he married Karen Warrick High.  He and his wife served for 40 years in children’s home ministries.  He was a member of Covington Maranatha Baptist Church.  He played AAA baseball and loved to race stock cars and play golf.  He loved the Chicago Cubs, watching westerns, collecting anything with eagles, knives & baseball cards, a good coney dog, root beer and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his children, Jackie Tolson, Greg High, Rebekah Harrell (husband David) and Robert High (wife Brooke); grandchildren, Seth, Elizabeth (husband Drake) Phoebe, Jacob, Laney, Breanna, Alex, Drew, Colton, April (husband Tyler), Tyler, Dylane, Briella, Kylie, and Rylie; great grandchildren, Lily-Anne, Noah, Kate, Amelia, and Leah; three sisters, Juanita Mitchell, Linda Elwood, Pam Simpkins, five brothers, William High, John High, Walter High, Delbert Sparks, and Harry Heilman and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.  He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Karen; sister Judith Anne.

Funeral services 2:00 P. M. EST Friday November 18, 2022 at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington with Pastor Kenneth Jones officiating.  Burial in Mount Hope Cemetery.  Visitation 12:00 P. M.
