Lafayette - Jacqueline Naomi (Jackie) Fleming, 82 died unexpectedly Monday April 4, 2011 at her home. She was born January 9, 1929 at Veedersburg the daughter of Walter Ross and Myra Frances Ferguson Harper.
Jackie married John Richard Fleming January 31, 1948 in Veedersburg and he died May 23, 1986. They moved from Oxford to Lafayette in 1983. She was an underwriter at State Farm, Lafayette for 25 years, retiring in 1991. After retirement she volunteered at the Mental Health Association.
Surviving are three children, John Michael (Nancy) Fleming of Lafayette; Nancy J. (Philip) Kerkhoff of West Lafayette; and Richard Scott (Brenda) Fleming of Portage; 6 grandchildren, Douglas Fleming, Daniel (Melissa) Fleming, Susan (Brian) Appleton, Jill (Jake) Spawn, John Ross Kerkhoff, and Jordan (Jessica Hawkins) Kerkhoff, 4 great grandchildren. Also surviving are 3 sisters, Patricia (William) Booe of Leigh Acres, FL; Mary Jo (Rod) Noggle of Avon Park, FL; and Judy (Joe) Haas of Bourbonnais, IL.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a. m. Friday April 8, 2011 in Osborn Prairie Cemetery north of Veedersburg. Arrangements are by Shelby Funeral Home. Memorials requested to Tippecanoe Cancer Society or Tippecanoe Public Library. Condolences to the family: www.shelbyfuneralhome.com
