James Robert Hardy

James Robert Hardy, 58, of Covington died unexpectedly at 3:44 P. M. Monday March 30, 2015 in St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital. He was born October 14, 1956 at Danville, IL the son of Robert and Nellie (Royal) Hardy.

He was a life resident of Covington and a 1975 graduate of Covington High School. He was a Purdue short course graduate and farmed all of his life. An active member of the First Church of Christ, he served as a volunteer at Hanging Rock Christian Camp and the Waters. Jim was a faithful Trojan fan.

Jim married Rhonda Cummins September 23, 2000 in Covington, and she survives. Also surviving are his parents, Robert and Nellie of Covington; three children, Andrea (Joe) Ragsdale of Veedersburg; Andrew (Katie) Hardy of Covington; Alise (Luke) Dillow of Martinsville, IN; a sister, Judy (Clarence) Tedder of Denton, TX; two brothers, Stanley (Brenda) Hardy and Dan (Amanda) Hardy both of Covington; four grandchildren, Kayleigh, Landon, Rorie, and Lauren; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Friday April 3, 2015 at 11:00 A. M. EDT at First Church of Christ with Eddy Jones and Gary Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 P. M. Thursday at the church and one hour before services Friday.
