James "Jim" M Hudson

June 26, 1941 — January 6, 2022

James M. Hudson, 80, of Covington died at 11:38 A. M. Thursday January 6, 2022 in the Emergency Room of Franciscan St. Elizabeth Health, Crawfordsville.  Jim was born June 26, 1941 at Greencastle, IN the son of Charles M. and Mary L. (Carrithers) Hudson.

His family moved to Covington in 1949 and Jim graduated from Covington High School in 1960.  He was employed at General Electric in Danville, IL for 30 years before retiring.  He then worked at Raybestos in Crawfordsville for twelve years. Jim served in the National Guard for several years. He was a member of First Church of Christ, and had been the custodian with Billie for several years.  He enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

James married Billie Rose Hegg December 23, 1967 at the First Church of Christ and they enjoyed fifty-four years together. He is survived by Billie, two daughters, Amy Mears and husband Alan, Jami Williams and husband Jeff, both of Covington; two grandchildren, Chase (Lauren), and Collin (Skylar); and  three great grandchildren, Myah, Lily, and Lucas.  His parents preceded him in death.

Memorial services will be at 6:00 P. M. Tuesday January 11, 2022 at the First Church of Christ, 615 Fifth Street, Covington with Pastor Joey Emrick officiating.  Friends may call from 4:00 to 6:00 P. M. before the services.  The family requests everyone attending wear a mask and observe social distancing.  Per his wishes cremation was chosen and burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery at a later date.  Condolences to the family: www.shelbyfuneralhome.com
