James Warner Miller

James Warner Miller, 74 of State Line, IN passed away at 6:15 a. m. Sunday April 10, 2011, at his home, surrounded by his family. Jim was born Dec. 1, 1936 at Chandlerville, IL. to Joseph and Mae (Hobbs) Miller. He married Ruth Peters in Ottawa, IL. on Sept. 7, 1963 and she survives. Jim formerly worked for Vermilion Service Co. FS in sales. An Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict, he enjoyed fishing and working on boats. A former resident of Gulfport, MS., he had resided in State Line for 17 years. Other survivors are a daughter, Teena Lane of Petersburg, IL. and 6 sons; James Thomas of Urbana, Jeff (Missy) Miller, Danville, IL, Brian (Katie) Miller of Indianapolis, Greg (Tammy) Miller of Gulfport, MS, Jason (Sue) Miller, Danville, IL, and Brad (Becky) Miller of Fishers, IN. three brothers Joseph (Dawn) Miller of Kalispel, MT, Wayne (Ellen) Miller, and Don Miller both of Jacksonville, IL, a sister Geri (Dean) Hyatt, 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 sisters and a brother. Visitation: Tuesday April 12, 2011, 4:00 to 7:00 p. m. at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington, IN. Funeral service, Wed. April 13, 2011, 11:00 A.M. at Shelby Funeral Home with Tom Dewlen officiating . Burial will be in Gordon Cemetery, Danville with Military Graveside Rites by the American Legion of Danville.
