Jane Estal Bowles

August 5, 1942 — December 13, 2021

Jane Estal Bowles, of rural Veedersburg died Monday December 13, 2021 at her home.  She was born August 5, 1942 east of Cates, IN the daughter of Leroy Snoddy and Anna (Crowder) Merryman.

Jane married William Robert Bowles March 26, 1975 at Oakwood, IL and he survives.  Robert died Sunday December 25, 2021.

Surviving are two daughters, Carol (Arthur) Sellers of Covington, IN; Anna M. Ward of Wheatland, CA; a step daughter Shawn Zilinski of FL; two grandchildren, Andrew T. Howard and Valerie A Deaton; two step grandsons, Jeffrey Zilinski, Anthony Sellers; Six great grandchildren, Andrew, Jr., Hannah Grace, Jadon Howard and Wyatt, Bryce, Sky Lynn Deaton.  Also surviving is a brother Samuel (Vivian) Merryman of Crawfordsville, IN, a sister-in-law Mary Ann Merryman of Perrysville, IN, several nieces and nephews.   She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Shannon Young, a brother Roy Lee Merryman.

Jane graduated from Kingman High School in 1960.  She was employed at Devro Tee Pak for twenty-six years, retiring in 1996 due to ill health.  She was a member of Scotts Prairie Church and Modern Woodmen of America.  She enjoyed her great grandchildren, mushroom hunting, gardening, crafts, cooking, and late summer trips to the Smokey Mountains.

Funeral services for Jane and Bob will be at 2:00 P. M. EST Thursday December 30, 2021 at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington with Rev. Gerald Holdman officiating.  Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hillsboro.   Visitation 12:00 P. M. until time of services at 2:00 P. M.  Condolences to the family: www.shelbyfuneralhome.com
