Jeffrey C. Clark, 50, of Covington, In., passed away at 2:00 a.m. EST Tuesday, Jan 21, 2014, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 30, 1963, at Danville, IL. to Donald A. and Peggy (Marble) Clark.
He is survived by his sister, Sue Lucas; his two children, daughter, Veda and son, Mark. He is also survived by a nephew, Alan Bever; niece, Pam Tanner-Lauderbaugh; special cousins, Bobbie Niccum, Maggie Wallace, Richard Davis, Danny Odum and Jackie Black. Also his former wife, Coressa Clark.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Jeff had worked in the grocery business his entire life. He started working for his parents when he was 12 years old at the Covington IGA. He took over as president/CEO of Covington Foods in 1997, and held that position until his death. He was recognized nationally as Retailer of the Year within the IGA organization in 2004.
He graduated from Covington High School in 1982 and Indiana State University in 1986, with a degree in business. While in college he was an active member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. A licensed pilot, Jeff held several ratings.
Jeff had a generous heart, he would take in any stray animal that came his way and made it part of his home. He loved technology and always had the latest and greatest gadgets.
A service to celebrate the life of Jeffrey C. Clark will begin at 1:00 p.m. EST Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at Shelby Funeral Home in Covington, IN. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. EST Tuesday, also at Shelby Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Clark Family Scholarship with envelopes available at the funeral home.
