Danville Joanna Ruth Richardson, 88 died at 4:20 p. m. Tuesday September 11, 2012 at her home in Newell Township. She was born in the same home on December 6, 1923 the daughter of John Wesley and Ruth Valeria (Henson) Wallace.
Joanna attended Bismarck Schools and graduated from Danville High School in 1941. She was a secretary at C & E I, L & N, and CSX Railroads for 46 years, retiring in 1988. A life resident of Newell Township, she lived most of her life in the same home. Joanna was a member of Benson Chapel United Methodist Church and a former member of St. James and Central Christian Churches.
Joanna married Ralph J. Richardson April 24, 1948 and he died April 24, 1970. She is survived by a daughter Rita Dianne Brown of Indianapolis; 2 granddaughters, Randa (Charles) Goodman of Dana, IN and Rachelle (David) Abner of Danville; 4 great grandchildren, Aeron and Merissa Goodman, Trey McIntosh, and Taelor Abner. Her parents and a brother preceded her in death.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a. m. EDT Friday September 14, 2012 at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington. Rev. Brenda Burnworth will officiate and burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
