Karen Lynn High

Karen Lynn (Warrick) High, 73, died at 9:14 P. M. Sunday October 3, 2021 at home.  She was born August 16, 1948 at Crawfordsville, IN.

She grew up in Covington and was a class of 1966 graduate of Covington High School.  She worked as a young Adult at Hyster and Olin.  She married Jack High October 26, 1968.  She spent her life in several states (TN, FL, Ohio, MI and Mississippi, but they moved back to Covington in 2018.  She worked in the ministry helping wayward and needy Children from 1976 to 2015.

She raised and is survived by four children, Jackie Tolson, Greg High, Rebekah Harrell & husband David, and Robert High & wife Brooke.  She was a proud grandma to Seth, Elizabeth, & husband Drake, Phoebe, Jacob, Laney, Breanna, Alex, Drew, Colton, April & husband Tyler, Tyler, Dylane, and Briella; two step grandchildren, Kylie and Rylie.  She was also a great grandma to Lily-Anne, Noah, and Kate.

She loved to crochet and knit.  She made hundreds of stockings and blankets for kids, grandkids, extended family and friends over the years.

She was preceded in death by her great grandmothers, Anna Elizabeth (Wolfe) Warrick and Hattie Estella (Allen) Orahood, her parents, Virgil “Bud” and Norma (Orahood) Warrick, her sister Linda (Warrick) Galloway and several great aunts and uncles, and a great grandson, Ryan.

She is survived by her husband, sister Nancy (Warrick) Houmes & husband Bryan, an uncle Herschel Orahood, an aunt Arlene (Orahood) McMasters, Joann (Warrick) Fuchs, many nieces and nephews, as well as  her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren listed above.

Dementia may have taken her memories and personality (but not her feistiness) but her memory lives on in all those who knew her and loved her.

Visitation will be held for friends and family to pay their respects at 4:00 to 7:00 P. M. Wednesday October 6, 2021 at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington.  A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.
