Larry Dean Hilge

Larry D. “Yogi” Hilge, 76, of Covington passed away on Saturday September 10, 2021 at St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital.  He was born in Danville, IL, the son of Elmer and Bonnie (Rippatoe) Hilge.  They preceded him in death.  He married Sheri Stevens on May 30, 1964 in Danville, IL.  She survives.

Larry worked at General Moors for 27 years, retiring in 1992.  He farmed for many years.  He started his own trucking business in 1993 and continued until 2017.  He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Foley, AL.  He enjoyed going to coffee in the mornings with his good friends, especially Chuck Stonebraker and Bob Thomas, where they always had stories to tell.

Surviving with his wife Sheri are two children, Laurie (Brent) Brindle of Danville, IN, and Bart (Tiffany) Hilge of Covington; three grandchildren, Chelsa (Devin) Kerr, Grady (Melanie) Hilge, and Burke Hilge.

A gathering of friends and family are welcome at Larry’s home from 2:00 to 4:00 P. M. on Saturday September 18, 2021 to share stories and memories.  His good friend Don Hesler will speak at 4:00 P. M.
