Leah Ruth Miller

Covington - Leah Ruth Miller, 88 died at 6:40 p. m. Friday Oct. 15, 2010 at the Hawthorne Inn, Danville. She was born July 14, 1922 to William Lester and Minnie Gray Hollowell in Potomac, IL. Later she became a lifelong resident of Fountain County.
Leah married Cliston A. Miller on October 22, 1938 in Covington. They were married for 63 years until his death on October 24, 2001. They farmed in the Kingman and Perrysville areas all of their married life. She attended Salem United Methodist Church and previously attended Centennial Church before moving to Covington. She enjoyed quilting and sewing.
Surviving are 2 sons: John (Josephine) Miller of Kingman and James (Charlotte) Miller of Covington, 5 grandchildren, John (Rose) Miller, Jr. of Perrysville, Tina (Geoff) Sunderman of Kingman, Jodie (Robert) Weston of West Lebanon, James Miller, Jr. of Covington, and Jamie Miller of Noblesville, 5 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are 3 sisters, Mary Clodfelder of Rockville, Lois Marshall of Perrysville, and Janis (Kenton) Keele of Covington, 3 sisters-in-law, Delores Hollowell of Covington, Pearl Hollowell of Covington, Maxine McGee of Marshall, IN, several nieces and nephews. Her husband, parents, and 2 brothers, William and Daryl preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a. m. Tuesday October 19, 2010 at Shelby Funeral Home with Rev. Stanley Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in Centennial Cemetery, Kingman. Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 p. m. Monday. Memorials may be given to Salem United Methodist Church or Walther Cancer Institute with envelopes available at the funeral home.
