Luther Edward Ponder, Jr.

Luther Edward Ponder, Jr, 71 of Hillsboro, IN died at 12;27 a. m. Wednesday January 12, 2022 at his son’s home in Danville, IN after an extended illness.  He was born October 30, 1949 at Danville, IL the son of Luther Edward Ponder, Sr. and Freda Pauline Hughes Ponder.

Luther lived in Danville, IL and attended Danville High School.  He lived in Fountain County most of his life and moved to Hillsboro in 2012.  He was employed at Chuckles Candy Company for 39 years before retiring in 2003.

Surviving is a son Michael (Susan) Ponder of Danville, IN; a brother Robert Dale (Pat) Ponder of Veedersburg; three grandchildren, Tess, Anthony, and Alicia Ponder, and a great grandson Carson.  His parents and a son James Robert preceded him in death.

Funeral services 12:00 P. M. Saturday January 15, 2022 at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington..  Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Danville, IL.
