Marlene Ann Lewis

Marlene Anne Lewis, 69, of rural Covington died at 11:24 A. M. Friday October 23, 2015 at home following an extended illness. She was born November 28, 1945 at Covington the daughter of Albert and Hazel (Lindley) Riley.

She was a 1963 graduate of Kingman High School, and moved to Covington in 1970 from Veedersburg. Marlene was manager of Shoe Sensations in Danville for 19 years. She attended Calvary Baptist Church.

An author of two novels, three childrens books and a song The Little Church by the Railroad Tracks. She enjoyed playing with the children, crafts, making Barbie Doll clothes, and blankets. A very positive person, she was always smiling. A proud aunt of her nieces and nephews.

Marlene married David Lewis September 18, 1965 at Scotts Prairie Church and he survives. Also surviving are three children, Brad Alan (Karla) Lewis of Danville, IL; Sheryl Sue (Abram) Neufeld of Henderson, KY; Cynthia Cindy Lynn (Steve) Blackwell of Yorktown, VA; a brother Perry Gordon (Beverly) Riley of Sullivan, IN; a sister Bonnie Jean (Jake) Stockwell-Knight of Seminole, OK; eleven grandchildren, one great grandson, several nieces and nephews. Her parents and two brothers, Bob and Roger Riley preceded her in death.

Graveside services 11:00 A. M. Tuesday October 27, 2015 in Lower Mound Cemetery with Pastor Scott McCurdy officiating and burial of cremains.
