Mary Ann Haxton, 90 died at 11:38 p. m. Thursday May 19, 2011 at St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital. She was born July 12, 1920 at Clinton, IN the daughter of Howard and Ica Ellen Miller Plaster.
She was a former employee of General Electric and Recording & Statistical in Danville. She moved back to Covington from Florida in 1987. Her memberships include Maranatha Baptist Church, and Friendship Circle Center. She enjoyed crafts, card and board games.
Mary married Donald Eugene Haxton March 11, 1946 and he died May 8, 1990. Surviving are two daughters, Gadine Acton of Prairie Village, KS, and Sharon (Tony) Bennett of Williamsport; a sister Evelyn Grubb of Covington; 2 grandchildren, Barry (Paula) Lyons of Covington and Becky Beddow of Catlin, 4 great grandchildren,several nieces and nephews. Her parents and a brother preceded her in death.
The family wishes to pay tribute to the caregivers of the Waters of Covington and her church family, especially Gloria and Ed Finley for their loving and patient attention.
Funeral services at 10:00 a. m. Tuesday May 24, 2011 at Shelby Funeral Home with Pastor Billy Cloud officiating. Burial will follow in Helts Prairie Cemetery, Clinton. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p. m. Monday. Condolences may be sent to the family: www.shelbyfuneralhome.com
