Mildred Stephanie Grogg

August 1, 1935 — September 23, 2015

Mildred Stephanie Millie Grogg, 80, of Covington died at 5:30 P.M. Wednesday September 23, 2015 surrounded by her family at Hoosier Village, Indianapolis following an extended battle with Alzheimers disease. She was born August 1, 1935 at Crawfordsville, IN the daughter of Stephen and Mildred (Jensen) Foy.

Millie was a 1953 graduate of Crawfordsville High School and attended Ball State University 1953-1955. She has been a resident of Covington since 1958 and formerly resided at Bloomington and Crawfordsville. She was a devoted member of Covington United Methodist Church, and sang in the choir for over 50 years. She actively volunteered for United Methodist Women, and Psi iota Xi. She was an avid and competitive golfer who loved to play a round with her husband, family and friends.

Married to Vincent F. Grogg August 25, 1956, they had four children who survive. They are Rebecca (Jim) Hill of Zionsville; Edward (Diana) Grogg of Carmel; Kathy (Mace) Terry of Greencastle; Peter (Jane Ann) Grogg of Bloomington, IN. With four children, eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren, her house was always filled with family. She was always ready with a hug and loving words. Her grandchildren are Jessica, Kendall, Jordan, Morgan, Sydney, Ellen, Nathaniel, Ashton, Josue, Max and Maggie and three great grandchildren are Jackson, Chase and Vivian. Her parents and two brothers preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Saturday September 26, 2015 at Covington United Methodist Church with Rev. Roberta Cook officiating. Burial in Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church 11:00 A. M. until services at 2:00 P. M. Memorials requested to Covington United Methodist Church or Grogg Community Fund at Western Indiana Community Foundation. Envelopes available at the church. Shelby Funeral Home is assisting the family.
