Minnie Ellen Clawson

Minnie E. Clawson, 96, of Covington died Tuesday at her home following an extended illness. She was born at Covington August 29, 1921 the daughter of Frank Millard and Daisy Leah (Smith) Vickery.

Minnie was a life resident of Covington area and a 1942 graduate of Perrysville High School. She was a   member of the First Church of Christ, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and Friendship Circle Center.  She was a former member of DAR and Coffeenians.  She enjoyed church and Sunday school.

Minnie married Frank Pershing Clawson October 27, 1945 at Covington and he died August 6, 2000. Surviving are two children, Clifford (Linda) Clawson and Rita Sams (Jeff Ping), both of Covington; a grandson John C. Thomas; a great granddaughter Gabriella V. Thomas; five step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  Her parents and brother Frank S. Vickery preceded her in death.

Funeral services 1:00 P. M. Friday February 16, 2018 at First Church of Christ with Pastor Mike Harshman officiating. Burial in Mount Hope Cemetery.  Visitation 11:00 A. M. until the time of services at 1:00 P. M.  Condolences to the family: www.shelbyfuneralhome.com .
