Mona Leona Dennis, 90, of Gessie went to be with the Lord Monday July 14, 2014 at 6:20 A. M. at the Waters of Covington.
Mona was born July 2, 1924 near Perrysville to Gilbert and Daisy (Winters) Sprouls. She married the love of her life on April 18, 1946 at Perrysville. They celebrated 68 years of marriage.
She worked at the Mussbeck Shoe Factory and GE. Later she sold Avon for 50 years and considered everyone on her route a friend. She worked hard at home and loved tending to her flowers. You never saw a dead leaf or dead flower on anyone of them.
Mona was a member of Gessie United Methodist Church, Royal Neighbors of America and Home Ec Club that she really enjoyed.
She is survived by her husband, Jack, two daughters, Vickie (Ron) Weddle, and Barbara (Dave) Orton; 4 grandchildren, Steph Andrew, Brock Terrell, Beau (Mitsi) Orton, Wendee (Daniel) Galloway; 4 great grandchildren, Jordyn, Braelyn, Cameryn and Caysee; 2 step grandchildren, Ron (Sydney) Weddle, Wendy Weddle; 3 step great grandchildren, Zach Weddle, Britton Tanner, Jeremy Watson; 4 step great-great grandchildren, Destiny, Jonnie, Jackson and Makaya. Her parents a brother, Herman Sprouls; 2 sisters, Helen Stutler, and Mildred Evans preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be Friday July 18, 2014 at 11: A M. EDT at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington with Rev. Jason DEan officiating. Burial will be in Lower Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 P. M. Thursday at Shelby Funeral Home. Condolences to the family: www.shelbyfuneralhome.com.
