Norma Josephine Robb

Norma Josephine Leerkamp Robb, 88, died Tuesday June 5, 2018 at 10:30 A. M. at home following a short illness. She was born December 1, 1929 at Sidney, IL the daughter of Ernest and Josephine DeWitt Leerkamp.  Norma married Robert E. Robb March 12, 1950 at Benson Chapel, and he survives.  Also surviving are four children, Charles Robb and wife Barbara Teague of Frankfort, KY, R. Steven Robb of Daytona Beach, FL, Julia Robb and Shirley Jefferson, husband Neil, both of Covington; two sisters, Evelyn Foster of Newman, IL, and Patricia Grubb, husband Edward, of Covington, and sister-in-law Dorothy Leerkamp of Tuscola, IL   Also surviving are six grandchildren, Sarah Hays, James Robb, Tommy Robb, Elizabeth Delp, Catherine Jefferson and Jessie Jefferson; six great grandchildren, Carter Hays, Kate Hays, Griffin Delp, Spencer Delp Josephine Jaskiewicz, George Jaskiewicz.  She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Laura Jean Robb, one brother, and four sisters.

Norma was a member of Covington United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and Covington Extension Homemakers for fifty years.

Having been brought up in a large family, Norma in turn raised a large, close-knit family, and all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were instilled with a strong love of home and family. After traveling extensively with her husband Bob following his retirement, her life in recent years has largely been devoted to her church groups, working in her garden, enjoying visits from her grandkids and greats, and to caregiving for Bob.  She will be missed and always remembered by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be Saturday June 9, 2018 at 1:00 P. M. EDT at Shelby Funeral Home with David Shelby officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 11:00 A. M. to time of services at 1:00 P. M.  Condolences to the family: www.shelbyfuneralhome.com
