Norman Eugene Bone

Norman Eugene Bone, 95, of Covington died at 2:30 A. M. Monday March 13, 2017 at home following an extended illness. He was born January 8, 1922 in Covington the son of the late Irvin N. and Laura (Lewsader) Bone.

He was a life resident of Covington and a 1940 graduate of Covington High School. He was a Navy veteran of World War II serving on submarines.  He was employed twenty seven years at Olin Corporation retiring in 1982.  Norman was the oldest member of the First Church of Christ, where he served as an elder.  He was a former trustee of Hanging Rock Christian Camp.  He enjoyed golf, fishing, woodworking, and boating.

Norman married Jean Geiger June 1, 1946 in Covington and they enjoyed seventy years together. Jean survives.  Also surviving is a daughter Laura Sue (Alan) Conner of Jeffersonville, IN; two grandsons, Jay (Megan) Conner of Jeffersonville and Gregory (Lindsay) Conner of Chicago; two great grandchildren, Miles G. Conner and Sadie Gail Conner.

Funeral services will be Thursday March 16, 2017 at 1:00 P. M. at First Church of Christ with Duane Mycroft officiating. Burial following in Mount Hope Cemetery.  Visitation will be 11:00 A.
