Oveta L Clem

Oveta L. Clem, 90, of Covington passed away at 5:45 A. M. Thursday April 21, 2022 at Franciscan Health East in Lafayette.  She was born October 12, 1931 at Kingman, IN the daughter of Cleveland and Jessie (Miller) Allen.

She married Robert Alward and he preceded her in death.  She married Norman S. Clem on December 2, 1962.  He preceded her in death on April 1, 2022.  She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Schuyler Allen, Sherman Allen, two sisters, Lois Dillon, Lorene Riley, and a son Kenneth Alward.

Surviving family includes: four children, Rita (Bob) Wallace, Tina (Kevin) Hari, Laura (Darrell) Lawson, Mike (Terry) Clem, a sister Patti (Al) Gritten; six grandchildren, Ryan Wallace, Courtney Wallace, Jesse Alward, Caitlin Lawson, Madison Lawson, and Emily Clem, two great grandchildren, Nick Wallace and Anthony Wallace.

Oveta graduated from Kingman High School in 1949.  She was a waitress at the Beef House for several years.  She was a member of First Baptist Church.  She enjoyed planting flowers in the spring, shopping for antiques, and spending time with family and grandkids.

Funeral services 3:00 P. M. EDT Tuesday April 26, 2022 at First Baptist Church with Pastor Andy Harkleroad officiating.  Burial in Mount Hope Cemetery.  Visitation 1:00 P.
