Ralph Dean Salts

Ralph Dean Salts, 83 of Waveland died at 11:15 a. m. Monday April 7, 2014 at home having been seriously ill the past two months.

He was born October 6, 1930 in Warren County, IN the son of Dewey and Dorothy Irene (Butler) Salts.

Ralph farmed all of his life in the Veedersburg area, retiring in 1993.

They moved to Waveland in 2010 to allow him to enjoy his favorite pastime - fishing. He was a member of Browns Valley Christian Church.

Ralph married Freida Totheroh April 29, 1951 and she died October 30, 1958. He married Ina L Beaver December 5, 1959 and she survives. Also surviving is a daughter Norma (Lewis) Bengal of Mooresville, IN; two sons, David (Jean) Salts of Adel GA and Kevin (Suzi) Salts of West Terre Haute, IN; a brother Paul (Doris) Salts of Mellott and a sister Lois Kochell of Mellott; 6 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. His parents, wife and son Michael preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a. m. Thursday April 10, 2014 at Browns Valley Christian Church with Minister David Finch officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Covington. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p. m. Wednesday at Browns Valley Church. Arrangements by Shelby Funeral Home.
