Robert Dean Spiering, 67, of Covington died suddenly Wednesday October 11, 2017 at home. He was born July 20, 1950 at Danville, IL the son of Henry E. and Mary Louise (Finney) Spiering.
Bob was a life resident of Covington, graduating from Covington High School in 1968. He served two years in the Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a carpenter all of his life and had been employed at Olin, City of Covington, and Fountain Foundry.
Surviving are two brothers, Wayne (Jo Lynn) Spiering, and Ronald Spiering, both of Covington; a sister Connie (Marty) Lenfesty of Danville, IL; seventeen nieces and nephews; twenty-eight great nieces and nephews. His parents, and brother, Charles preceded him in death.
Visitation 11:00 A. M. to 2:00 P. M. Saturday at Shelby Funeral Home. Funeral services 2:00 P. M. EDT Saturday October 14, 2017 at Shelby Funeral Home with Andy Harkleroad officiating. Burial in Lower Mound Cemetery with military services by Veedersburg American Legion. Memorials requested in his memory with envelopes available at the funeral home.
