Robert Eugene Strawser, 86, of Veedersburg died unexpectedly at 1:56 A. M. Tuesday November 17, 2015 at Franciscan St. Elizabeth hospital in Crawfordsville, IN.
Bob was born March 31, 1929 at Foster, IN the son of Earl and Marie N. (Gaskin) Strawser.
Bob attended Foster Grade School and was a 1947 graduate of Covington High School. He was employed 42 years in the gravel business at Interstate Sand & Gravel, Neal Gravel Company and Rogers Group, where he retired.
Bob was a member of Benson Chapel United Methodist Church and Tidal Lodge #36 K of P. Bob enjoyed his family and visiting with everybody he met. He was an avid Cubs and NASCAR fan. He was well known as the operator of Bobs Sweet Corn Farm.
Bob married Dorothy Dennis September 12, 1948 at Benson Chapel Methodist Church and she survives. Also surviving are three children, Kathy (Bob) Wilson of Terre Haute, Denny Strawser of Veedersburg, and Suzy (Greg Green) Strawser of Covington; two granddaughters, Tina Wilson and Stacy (Adam) Griner; four great grandchildren, Ben (Hailey), Joe, Mariah, and Hope Griner, several nieces and nephews, including three special nieces, Sally Gritten, Patty Coffing, and Kay Hunter.
His parents, two sisters, Louise Hunter, Helen Ball, a nephew Jack Hunter, and a niece Sharyn Briles preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P. M. EST Saturday November 28, 2015 at Benson Chapel United Methodist Church with Pastor Keith Klossner and Rev. Brenda Burnworth officiating. Burial will be in Lower Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 P. M. Friday November 27, 2015 at Benson Chapel United Methodist Church.
