Robert William Summers

Robert William Bob Summers, 81, of Covington died at 10:19 A. M. Friday September 4, 2015 at St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital, where he was a patient two weeks. He was born May 7, 1934 south of Covington the son of Paul H. and Mildred (Allen) Summers.

Bob graduated from Perrysville High School in 1952. He worked at Olin and Flexel 40 years before retiring in 1996. He enjoyed his family, specially his grandchildren, friends and fishing. He was a member of West Liberty Church of God.

Robert married Margaret Brasker December 23, 1955 in Covington and she survives. Also surviving is a son Robert Michael (Cindy) Summers of New Castle, IN; two daughters, Cheryl Cavaliere of Covington, and Cindy (Bob) Kallen of Valparaiso; a sister, Barbara Bushue of Covington and a brother, Joseph (Jane) Summers of Covington; six grandchildren, Stephanie, Brian, Katelyn, Stephen, Abby, and Erik. His parents, a sister, Brenda Hoaks, a brother, Keith and a grandson Robert Anthony preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be Tuesday September 8, 2015 at 11:00 A. M. at Shelby Funeral Home with Kevin Wildman and Jerry Hale officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery with military services by Veedersburg American Legion Post #288. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 P. M. Monday at Shelby Funeral Home. Memorials to West Liberty Church of Christ with envelopes available at the funeral home.
