Robert Allen Townsend

Robert Allen Townsend, 63 of Tilton, died Monday Oct. 31, 2016 in Garden View Manor of Tilton, Il.

He was born February 12, 1953 in Danville, Il., to Robert and Mary (Salts) Townsend. Robert had attended Covington Schools and formerly lived in Gessie and Covington. He was a laborer in the construction industry for many years.

He is survived by 3 sisters; Alyse French, Janice (Lavon) Stahl of Veedersburg, IN., Lois (Paul) Boswell of Tilton and a brother Richard Townsend of Danville.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers – James, Jerry, William and Fred Townsend. Also, 7 sisters – Saundra Lawhorn, Peggy Hancock, Roberta Powell, Jackie Clawson, Bertha Cadman, Joyce McDonald and Patricia Lape.

Direct Cremation was chosen with burial of cremains in Mt. Hope Cemetery at a later date. No services are planned at this time.
