Ronald Lloyd McGaha

Ronald “Ron” Lloyd McGaha, 83, of Covington, Indiana, passed away on Monday, January 12th, 2026, at the Veterans Home in Danville, Illinois. Ron was born on February 6th, 1942, in Brevard, North Carolina, to the late Lloyd and Myrtle (Fisher) McGaha. He graduated from Covington High School among the class of 1961.

Following graduation, Ron enlisted in the United States Army and served active duty in Vietnam. Ron married Patricia Ann Majors on April 16th, 1963. She preceded him in death on April 28, 1992.

After serving his country, Ron spent over 40 years at TeePak, retiring in 2010. In his free time, he enjoyed watching NASCAR, the Indianapolis Colts, and westerns on TV.

Ron married Jeanine Hughes-Odeneal on October 20th, 2012, and she survives. Also surviving are sons, Raymond, Mark (Kirsten), Anthony (Amanda); grandchildren, Angel (JD) Lang, Jennifer (Bob) Williams, Raymond Lloyd, Brianna, Aidan, Thailei, Jacob, Orion, Tempest, Lyonz, Kyrie, and Justice McGaha; 20 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Phyllis (Chuck) Whitaker, and Dee Simmons; as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Each will carry his memory forward. Ron’s love for his family extended beyond those with whom he shared blood. That love came to include Nathan Guzman of Ft. Hood, Texas, and step-children, Carrie and Jason Odeneal, as well as 4 step-grandchildren, and 1 step-great-grandchild. Along with his first wife, Patricia, Ron now joins in death his twin brother, Donald McGaha; daughter-in-law, Debbie McGaha; and infant son, Nathan Andrew McGaha. A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 17th, 2026 at the First Baptist Church in Covington. The visitation will begin at 12:00 PM (EST) and will last until the time of service at 2:00 PM (EST). Pastor Andy Harkleroad will officiate the funeral and graveside services.
